Insomnium: : announces Nick Cordle (SANCTUARY, ex-ARCH ENEMY, ex-ARSIS) as fill-in guitarist on upcoming North American tour

Ready to embark on their first USA headlining tour this August, Finnish melodic death metallers INSOMNIUM have announced Nick Cordle (SANCTUARY, ex-ARCH ENEMY, ex-ARSIS) as the fill-in guitarist for the trek. Due to his very busy work schedule, Ville Friman is not able to join the band on this run of dates, but fans can still expect the dual face-melting, guitar hero onslaught of Vanhala & Cordle every night!

Ville Friman comments: "My sincere apologies for not being able to take part in INSOMNIUM's busy touring schedule this year. I've tried my best to work my way around work and band and will be doing as many shows as possible. Unfortunately, I won't be able to take part in this run. But worry not, Nick has kindly accepted to step into my shoes and will be shredding his way into your hearts every night. In the meanwhile, I'll be concentrating on coming up with new INSOMNIUM tunes. Hope to see you soon in North America."

Nick Cordle adds: "It'll be an honor and a pleasure to sit in with INSOMNIUM on this run! They're an awesome live band and I'll try to hold up my end of that 'face melting guitar hero onslaught' as promised!"

Kicking off at the Heavy MTL festival on August 9th, the tour also features OMNIUM GATHERUM as direct support. Stay tuned for details about a special tour split 7" with INSOMNIUM and OMNIUM GATHERUM coming soon! See below for all dates.

Born out of the melancholy, sorrow and dreariness of long winter nights, their 6th full-length is even more intense and dynamic than its predecessor (2011's acclaimed masterpiece, One For Sorrow). With each new album, the quartet seems to bring their songwriting craftsmanship closer to perfection; Shadows Of The Dying Sun is irrefutably"...melodic death metal done right" (METAL INJECTION.net).

Following torn vocal chord issues that occurred with front man Frankie Palmeri back in February, Emmure is now cancelling upcoming tour dates. The band commetns:

"Due to unfortunate circumstances, we must cancel our upcoming EU/UK touring plans with Caliban, Thy Art Is Murder and Sworn In due to Frankie’s still yet to be determined healing process. He has severe acute and chronic reflux laryngitis and a weak (partially paralyzed) left vocal cord.

"We appreciate the support we received on the last tour with Suicide Silence in Frankie’s absence, at this time we are going to put our focus towards writing a new album while he recovers and we hope to see you all very soon."

APRIL 3rd, 2015 – Progressive metal band Between the Buried and Me have released a brand new song from their upcoming highly anticipated, seventh full-length album Coma Ecliptic. Fans can listen to “Memory Palace” now by heading to metalblade.com/btbam. Pre-order link: metalblade.com/btbam

Coma Ecliptic boasts a series of emotive peaks and valleys that drive the narrative along with the lyrics. Singer Tommy Rogers shares: “Coma Ecliptic is a new life for BTBAM. Throughout the process we worked harder than we ever have and really pushed the BTBAM sound to a new identity. In a world of repetition, I’m very proud to be a part of something that is extremely rewarding, as well as frightening. When you don’t push yourself you will never know what the outcome is. The outcome is Coma Ecliptic.

Coma Ecliptic was recorded in January and February of 2015 with longtime Between the Buried and Me producer Jamie King at Basement Recordings in North Carolina. Drums and piano were recorded with King and Kris Hilbert at the Fidelitorium. Final mixing and mastering was placed in the capable hands of Jens Bogren (Opeth, Katatonia, Amon Amarth, Devin Townsend) at Fascination Street Studios in Sweden.

The band will be hosting a live twitter Q&A on Monday, April 6th from 5pm – 6pm EST. Fans can follow the band and members at the below accounts:

Between the Buried and Me will embark on a headline tour kicking off April 5th, 2015 in Asheville, NC at The Orange Peel with support from The Atlas Moth. On release day, the band will continue their headline run with the release of Coma Ecliptic and kick off a tour with support from Animals as Leaders and The Contortionist on July 7th in Athens, GA at Georgia Theatre.

VIP packages are on sale now that include an exclusive Q&A with both Between the Buried and Me and Animals As Leaders, photo opps with each band, an 18″x24″ poster signed by both bands, and a souvenir laminate with early entrance to the show! VIP packages can be purchased at showstubs.com/btbam. General tickets can be purchased at metalblade.com/btbam.

Between the Buried and Me began their journey in the year 2000 in North Carolina. Over the past 15 years, they have released seven full-length albums, an EP, a live album, a covers album, and a blu-ray/DVD. Their current lineup has been consistent since 2005, and they have taken full advantage of a stable and productive group of musicians. Each of their albums since that year have debuted on the Billboard Top 200 chart: Alaska (2005) at #121, The Anatomy Of (2006) at #151, Colors (2007) at #57, The Great Misdirect (2009) at #36, The Parallax: Hypersleep Dialogues EP (2011) at #54, and The Parallax: Future Sequence (2012) at #22. Additionally, the band’s first-ever Blu-ray release, Future Sequence: Live at the Fidelitorium debuted at #2 on the Billboard Top Music Video Charts, impressively ahead of video releases from progressive legends Dream Theater and YES. Consistency and growth in an epoch of shrinking music sales is indicative of the supreme impact the band has had across the heavy and progressive music landscapes. The band is composed of vocalist/keyboardist Tommy Rogers, guitarist Paul Waggoner, guitar Dustie Waring, bassist Dan Briggs and dummer Blake Richardson.

Destruction Drummer Vaaver To Miss Upcoming Tour Dates

Photo of Destruction

Band Photo: Destruction (?)

Destruction drummer Vaaver will not be able to complete the band's upcoming North American tour with Sepultura and Arsis due to the birth of his second child.

Standing in for Vaaver will be longtime Primal Fear / Annihilator drummer (and current DuskMachine member), Randy Black. Destruction front man, Schmier, states:

“I've known Randy for many years. He’s a down to earth guy and a killer drummer! So when we thought about who could replace Vaaver on this North American tour, only a few drummers came to my mind and Randy was our first choice. Who else could do a stand-in job like this with a great attitude and amazing skills! It will be a great experience for us to play with such a powerhouse drummer and I’m sure Destruction fans will appreciate his performance as well!"

Vaaver states: “I am going to be a father for the second time in my life and it's going to happen in June of 2015. I therefore have to apologize to all our fans for not being able to participate in the 2015 spring North American tour. I am convinced that Randy, an amazing drummer, a truly experienced thrasher, and a good friend of ours, will smoothly take over my drum throne for that period and will set the stage on fire.”

Randy Black adds, "I take this as a very cool challenge and an honor to step in on drums for Vaaver to help the guys out and be a part of this great tour! I can assure the Destruction fans that I’m working my ass off getting the drum parts tight and brutal!"

Vaaver will be performing with the band on all shows through the Mexico tour that takes place immediately before the North American dates.
